Go together and save on costs
Commute with Enterprise (Lease a Vehicle Long Term)
Coordinate a commuter car or vanpool, lease a vehicle, and share the commute
Share the Cost
- Monthly Billing: Rates vary based on vehicle type, commute distance, the number of passengers.
- Employers: receive tax credit for providing subsidies to employees.
- Employees: fund commute with up to $300 pretax income. Split the cost with your coworkers.
You’ll save on more than gas and parking costs. IRS Code 132(f) can help your employees save money by reducing taxable income and can help your business to lower FICA payroll taxes
Tips
- Coordinate a Car or Vanpool: designate 1-2 people to coordinate and drive personal or rented vehicle; recruit 2-14 coworkers to ride (CDL required if driving over 15 riders)
- Find or Post a Car or Vanpool: post your commute on work listservs, bulletins, and ridematching tools. Ask staff and employers to assist in your search for riders or a ride.
- Estimate the shared costs: for car rental and gas. Pay monthly costs (more riders = less shared costs). Under 10 passengers is allowed without a CDL license.
